Sea creature with plastics inside its body goes viral
They found it in the Mariana Trench of the Pacific Ocean between Japan and the Philippines. This prompted the WWF organization known as the World Wide Fund for Nature to comment on this. Heike Vesper, Director of the Marine Program at WWF Germany, said: this shows how profound the consequences of improper handling of plastic waste are.
“There are species that live in the deepest and most remote places on earth that have already ingested plastic before humanity knows them. Plastics are in the air we breathe, in the water we drink and now also in animals that live far away of human civilization. “
Dr. Alan Jamieson, head of the research mission at the University of Newcastle, UK, explained that they decided to baptize him with this name so that they seek to implement immediate measures on the presence of plastic in the oceans. This is why WWF is conducting an international campaign to demand to reduce plastics and end marine plastic pollution.
