Micah Harless, a 13-year-old teenager from Weatherford, Texas, managed to capture a nearly 400-kilogram tiger shark off the coast of Port Aransas on Monday in a real battle that lasted about five hours, reports Fox News.
Harless caught the shark from a chartered fishing boat with his father, according to a Facebook statement from the southern jetty in Port Aransas. The company also shared images of the hanging Harless Dam to make measurements.
The hunted predator weighed 383 kilograms and was 185 centimeters long.
However, not all Facebook commenters congratulated the young man. Some questioned why the shark was not released after its capture, although tiger sharks are not among the species banned by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, except for very small specimens.
