The spot is about 100 miles from the Asturian coast.

Asturias is on alert for marine pollution. The protocol is at the lowest level, the surveillance level. Asturias has adopted this decision after the Basque Country and Cantabria have done the same. The order has been given by the Minister of the Presidency and Citizen Participation, Guillermo Martínez. The head of the Presidency has proceeded to activate today, Thursday, at 11.29 hours, the Territorial Contingency Plan for Accidental Marine Pollution in the Principality of Asturias (PLACAMPA) in Situation 0. The spot is currently at about 100 miles from the Asturian coast and, in principle, it seems that it will reach the Spanish coast, as experts have explained in recent days.

This level of Situation 0 of the marine pollution plan activates the monitoring and follow-up on the evolution of the pollution arising after the accident of this ship. The shipwreck of this vessel has also led to the activation of the National Plan to Combat Maritime Pollution.
