President Maduro Supervises Military Exercises at Turiamo Naval Base

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, oversees the military maneuvers deployed by the special forces of the Bolivarian Navy at the Naval Apostadero de Turiamo, located in the state of Aragua.

The Bolivarian Marine Infantry of the Central Integral Defense Strategic Region (REDI Central) participates in this activity.

The Head of State is accompanied by the Military High Command and carries out this supervision in the direction of Operation Civic-Military, Bicentennial of Angostura 2019.  

He said that this base is the defense center of the Homeland and that the soldiers are the maximum guarantee of union, freedom and sovereignty, which is why he urged the unity of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

He said that the US empire “want to weaken Venezuela, the enemies of the country would be happy to see the country weak … Neither intervention, nor civil war in Venezuela, here there will be peace,” said President Maduro.

The military practices are framed in the deployment of the military armies Bicentenario de Angostura that will take place from February 10 to 15, 2019.

These will take place in homage to the 200 years of the Speech of Angostura, will be developed under two modalities aimed at guaranteeing the training and cohesion of the FANB, as well as strengthening the defensive capacity of the territory.
