One Dead and Two Injured by Accident on a Gas Platform in the Adriatic Sea

The collapse of a crane on a platform of the Italian oil and gas company Eni, in the Adriatic Sea, resulted in one death and two injuries, according to a statement from the company.

“With deep pain, Eni reports that the missing companion was located in the cabin of the crane at the bottom of the sea,” it was reported.

Regarding two others, who were injured, he reported that they were immediately transported to the hospital in Ancona.

“Eni confirms that the life of the former is out of danger and the latter is receiving adequate medical treatment,” the company said.

The accident took place on March 5 in the morning on the Barbara F gas platform, 60 kilometers from the Italian city of Ancona.

The crane fell into the sea during transport of a tank with liquid nitrogen.

The company investigates what happened and collaborates with the coast guard, the port authorities and the fire department.
