A Navy officer was killed and six others were injured after his light armored vehicle capsized during training at Camp Pendleton in southern California, the AP reported on Thursday.

Local authorities began an investigation into the cause of the vehicle’s rollover with the Marine Infantry of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Corps Division in the expanding camp, north of San Diego on Thursday morning. According to AP, the six wounded marines were taken to a local hospital.

Incidents involving US soldiers in routine training are not uncommon.
