A Jamaican man spent the whole night wounded after the vicious attack of a huge reptile. In the end, he endured the amputation of one of his limbs, and now seeks to rebuild his life.
An electrician suffered serious injuries after a crocodile attack in the town of Poor Man’s Corner, Saint Thomas Parish, located in southeastern Jamaica, reports local media Jamaica Star.
Weeks ago, Nigel Gayle, 48, went to the beach to rest after work. When he entered the water he was attacked on the leg by a crocodile. The man asked for help, but there was no one nearby, after which he managed to free himself from the reptile on his own.
When fleeing the animal, Gayle got into an old refrigerator that was on the beach and used his belt to stop the bleeding. In those conditions he spent the whole night.
When the crocodile approached him, he made noises to scare him and managed to get the animal to back off. After 12 hours, Gayle was seen by bystanders, who took him to the hospital. Unfortunately, it was too late to save his leg and the doctors had to amputate it.
Now the electrician seeks help to get a prosthesis and return to his normal life.
