At first it’s as if the eel was going to attack the scuba diver or his camera, but it seems it became threatened. It slowly lunges towards the camera but quickly retreats back into the hole. A very good clip capturing the peculiar look of this type of eel. Moray eels, or Muraenidae, are a family of eels whose members are found worldwide. Several species are regularly seen in brackish water, and a few are found in fresh water.
Here we get a close up look at the strange species of eel with its very sharp teeth and barely separated eyes. The Moray eel also has an interesting dorsal fin that looks like a long mohawk extending down its entire back. Its wide opening mouth and deep jaw makes for a dangerous outcome if you happen to be on the receiving end of its bite. Would you be scared to approach this huge eel with it’s pointy shark-like teeth?
We definitely would!
