“We freed Willy” shouted and celebrated  fishermen after rescuing the cetacean, despite the risk of being attacked.

A group of Chimbotano fishermen rescued an orcathat was caught in one of their fishing nets.

The fishermen are aware of the orca trapped in a network . After a brief and arduous work, they manage to free the animal. “This is free Willy three, we free Willy,” the fishermen shouted after saving the killer whale, which quickly plunged into the sea.

The fisherman Samir Jonathan Peña Rodríguez said that they were fishing 14 hours from the coast of Chimbote, when they noticed the orca caught in their nets . “Some fishermen choose to leave them trapped in the nets, but we decided to release it,” he said.

“We feel good about what we did”, says Jorge Luis Inga Peña, who said that they risked their lives, because some of these animals usually attack them.
