Ukrainian military seaman Vasily Soroka, wounded during an armed incident in the Kerch Strait area, was operated on Monday, said Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova, referring to the words of her Russian colleague Tatyana Moskalkova.
According to the Ukrainian ombudsman, Moskalkova confirmed that Soroka “had a surgical operation at the Pirogov clinic in Moscow.” “The doctors removed the fragments and sewed the tendons of the left hand,” Denisova wrote on her Facebook.
According to her information, now Soroka is in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center of Moscow, where doctors will observe him and carry out necessary medical procedures with him.
On January 22, 2019, the ombudsman in Moscow, Tatyana Potyaeva, reported that two wounded Ukrainian sailors, Andrei Artemenko and Andrei Eider, recovered, are finishing rehabilitation and can be sent to Lefortovo SIZO. According to her, the third wounded man, Soroka, who had a severe wound to the arm, “almost recovered”: the wound healed, the plaster was removed, but the arm remained swollen.
