The Vietnam Navy will participate in the third Komodo Naval Multilateral Exercise 2018, which will take place from today until the 9th on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
So far 36 countries have confirmed their participation in the international military maneuver and 18 of them plan to send ships or planes.
The host, Indonesia, will dispatch 33 warships, 12 maritime patrol aircraft and six helicopters for this multilateral test.
It is a biennial event organized by the Jakarta Navy and recognized as one of the most important naval exercises in the region.
Held for the first time in 2014, the exercise aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation among the participating countries, in order to contribute to peace and stability in the region.
