Ship With More Than 300 People Sets Fire to Russia

A ship with more than 300 people caught fire in the Baltic Sea, near the city of Kaliningrad, on Tuesday (2). The information was confirmed by Russian authorities.

Rescue teams are on site and the initial balance points out that 335 people would be on the ferry leaving Germany bound for Lithuania. Earlier reports point to an explosion in the vessel’s engine, which is about 135 kilometres off the coast.

To date, no deaths or injuries have been reported. Passengers and crew were taken to a safe area on the boat, which is drifting.
