Russian naval sailors restored their presence in the World Ocean, said Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Vladimir Korolev.
“We have restored the naval presence in the World Ocean and are ready to carry out tasks in any of its areas. At different times in the seas and oceans there are from 70 to 100 warships, submarines and support vessels. The Russian Defense Minister has set the task to increase this presence. We will accomplish this task, “Korolev said in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
He stressed that one can not see any aggressive intentions in this. “According to our firm assessment, the World Ocean must be safe for all. The Russian Navy will continue to play one of the leading roles in ensuring this security, “said Korolev.
The Commander-in-Chief recalled that the Russian sailors had gained invaluable practical experience of military operations against terrorist groups in Syria, releasing a total of 100 cruise missiles on the positions of terrorists and carrying out more than 400 sorties, defeating more than 1,000 targets of illegal armed formations in the course of actions ship carrier group in the Mediterranean Sea.
