Passenger Ship With 250 People Disabled, Adrift in Bay of Bengal

Passenger ship KAJAL with 250 passengers on board was disabled in the afternoon Jan 15 near Saint Martin’s Island, southernmost Bangladesh, while en route from Saint Martin’s to Teknaf port, mainland Bangladesh.

During the night on Jan 15 she was still drifting, awaiting another vessel of KAJAL’s owner company, KUTUBDIA (IMO 8012712). As of 0530 UTC as of Jan 16, situation is still unknown.
