Navy of Vietnam Acquires Experiences in Komodo 2018 Naval Exercise

Members of the 561 hospital ship returned to Vietnam after participating in the Komodo 2018 Naval Multilateral Exercise in Indonesia, where they gained experience in organizing such an event.

At a time when Vietnam is preparing for similar activities in 2020, the participation of the national delegation in the maneuvers also contributes to strengthening friendship and mutual trust among the countries involved.

The hospital ship 561 arrived at the port of Cam Ranh, in the central province of Khanh Hoa, after participating for two weeks in the programs framed in the exercise Komodo 2018, which brought together dozens of warships from Russia, France, Malaysia, Thailand, the United States and other countries.

For the third time since 2014, the Vietnamese Navy takes part in these maneuvers to increase the coordination capacity between the naval forces of the region in humanitarian aid and the solution of maritime security problems.

These simulations demonstrate the importance of regional cooperation to improve weather forecast, early warning and relief in case of natural disasters.
