Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated reindeer herders who drifted for days on an ice floe into the sea in the north of Yakutia, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yakutia reports.

The reindeer breeders were evacuated. All are alive, their condition is satisfactory, they will undergo a medical examination, if they need medical care, they will be taken to Ust-Kuyga for serious injuries, ”Interfax quotes the message.

As reported, the ice floe, on which there were eight reindeer herders from the local agricultural cooperative “Multuk”, last Saturday during fishing, was torn off from the Bolshoi Lyakhovsky island of the Bulunsky district. On the satellite phone, people contacted the head of the community, informing them that they were being carried to the sea, and also transmitted their coordinates.
