The National Police of Peru (PNP) seized more than 24 kilos of cocaine aboard a ship that arrived at the port of Callao from Buenaventura (Colombia) and whose destination was Angamos (Chile), reported that security force on Tuesday.

The drug was camouflaged in 31 soles of shoes and slippers lined with packing tape that was stored in four suitcases, with a combined weight of 24.2 kilos.

The ship, of Singaporean flag and name San Sounio, was registered exhaustively by the agents when knowing that there was drug in the ship by actions of intelligence in the Lima port of Callao.

The operation involved divers who inspected the hull of the vessel, 333 meters in length, while on board others inspected the engine rooms, warehouses, cabin and deck under the supervision of a prosecutor.
