The ship of the French Navy Rhone for the first time passed along the Northern Sea Route eastward. This is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the commander of the auxiliary ship A603, Philippe Gene.

The ship completed the cruise from the Norwegian port of Tromsø to the Aleutian Islands (port of Dutch Harbor) in two and a half weeks. According to ITAR-TASS, he followed the Russian icebreaker.

It is interesting that, according to the information of the French portal Mer et Marine, the Rhone passed through the Northern Sea Route without icebreaking. Also about the help of icebreakers does not mention Interfax.
