Dead Whale Appears On A Beach In Rosarito, Baja California

Firefighters and water rescue personnel said that the animal over 20 meters long and weighing three tons was dead but due to its size and weight they could not return it back to the sea.

Yesterday the body of a gray whale appeared stranded on the beach of Rosarito.

The mammal was found on the north side of the beach, which generated mobilization of local conservation staff and local authorities.

Firefighters and water rescue personnel pointed out that the animal more than 20 meters long and weighing three tons was dead but due to its size and weight could not return it back to the sea.

Due to the size of the whale, the authorities informed that it will take a few days to bury the body, in the same area, which is near the Metropolitan Convention Center of Baja California.

Today the maneuvers began to bury the mammal. The Zofemat said that it does not know the causes of death of the animal, but that they will bury it as soon as possible due to the odours it gives off due to decomposition.

  1. This wasnt a gray whale. I was there and saw it in person. I have pictures of me in the water with it before it was even beached. Gray whales max out around 15 meters . This was a male blue whale, it was about 22 meters long, I measure it. Also gray whales dont have a white belly.
