A significant part of the equipment of imported production, installed on the Viktor Chernomyrdin icebreaker under construction, suffered from a fire that occurred on November 27 at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg.

The head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexey Rakhmanov told reporters about this during his visit to Severodvinsk.   

The fire at the Viktor Chernomyrdin icebreaker, being built at the Admiralty Shipyards enterprise (part of USK), occurred in late November. The fire partially affected the third and fourth decks on an area of ​​300 square meters. meters As a result, the accident suffered two people.   

“The total damage, as we estimated, will not exceed 150 million rubles, in terms of deadlines – 2019 will remain, taking into account the need for ice testing and taking into account the fact that a large proportion of imported equipment was lost due to fire”, said the head of USC.   

United Shipbuilding Corporation received an order for the construction of an icebreaker in 2011 for 7.94 billion rubles. The icebreaker of project 22600 with a capacity of 25 MW is being built by order of FSUE “Rosmorport” from December 2012, the vessel will become one of the most powerful non-nuclear icebreakers in the world, it is planned to use it on the Northern Sea Route. The vessel is due for testing in 2019.

Earlier it was reported that the icebreaker under construction is insured in the company VSK. Rakhmanov declined to comment on the progress of negotiations with the insurance company Rakhmanov in an interview with journalists.
