A Detachment of Pacific Fleet Ships Conducted Exercises in the Philippine Sea

A detachment of Pacific Fleet ships (Pacific Fleet) continues a long march, in the Philippine Sea, the ships conducted exercises to locate and track the submarine of the conventional enemy.

Large anti-submarine ships “Admiral Vinogradov” and “Admiral Tributs” in the Philippine Sea on-the-fly refuelled with water and fuel from the average marine tanker Pechenga, which is part of the detachment. Then they conducted a series of exercises and training, the press service of the Pacific Fleet said on Wednesday.

In the framework of the anti-submarine exercise, the detachment fulfilled the tasks of searching for and tracking the submarine of the conventional enemy. The crews in cooperation with the shipborne aviation groups provided the flights of the anti-submarine helicopters Ka-27. The pilots of the naval aviation of the Pacific Fleet carried out more than 10 take-offs and landings on the deck of ships in search of a submarine.

Also, the sailors conducted training on communications, joint tactical maneuvering, fighting for ship survivability, organizing search and rescue at sea.

As reported, a detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet left Vladivostok on a long two-month hike on May 7. It is planned that the ships will visit the ports of a number of foreign states and take part in the Russian-Chinese naval exercise “Maritime interaction-2018”.
