7.3 Tons of Cocaine Drop in International Simultaneous Operations

Authorities from Colombia, the United States and Mexico carried out simultaneous operations against drug trafficking, where they seized 7.3 tons of drugs.

The first operation took place on the border with Ecuador, where authorities found 2.1 tons of cocaine hidden inside two tractors.

The two drivers of Colombian nationality were captured. “The information that the Colombian police have with the DEA is that this drug belonged to the criminal organization ‘La Constru’ in Putumayo,” said General Jorge Luis Vargas, director of Criminal Investigation and Interpol.

Simultaneously in Mexico’s international waters, the authorities seized 5.2 tons of cocaine that went on a fishing vessel from that country.

The cargo came from the Colombian-Ecuadorian border, on the Pacific.

“This drug, according to intelligence information from the DEA and the Colombian Police, belonged to Pacific organizations, specifically to a man known as El Contador,” explained General Vargas.
