Sturmtief “Xavier” caused two accidents on Thursday in Bremerhaven’s Überseehafen and in the fishing port, where several ships were damaged.
In the overseas port, two ships collided with each other through the strong wind and had to be separated from each other by helpers. A fully loaded autodampfer should have torn itself off and crashed against another ship.
According to Nord24 information, both ships were damaged and could not be phased out despite the original plan. One of the two ship ramps have been significantly damaged during the accident.
In the fishing port, Xavier caused damage: the storm pushed a crane against a yacht and a trawler. Both ships were easily damaged. Individuals were not harmed in both accidents.
