The Japanese police discovered a North Korean fishing vessel on the northwest coast of Honshu in Akita Prefecture, on board of which there were eight fishermen, the Japanese NHK television channel said on Friday.
The local police officers took these people under guard, and then interrogated. Landed on the Japanese coast sailors told that they are fishermen from the DPRK. They said that their ship had problems, as a result of which they were carried to the shores of Japan.
Fishermen expressed a desire to return to the DPRK, the channel said.
