Collision of Two River Boats On Huangpu River

The “Bao Di Long 9” lost control and collided with two river boats on the Huangpu river in the Shanghai area, while proceeding downstream on Nov 8, 2017, at 9.50 a.m. The “Deqinghuo 1925” was run over and sank.

Three people were onboard the capsized 30-meter-long “Deqinghuo 1925”. While two were rescued by nearby boats, one was still missing.

The “Bao Di Long 9” also had collided with two ships, the “Suzhong 858” and the “Deqinghuo 1925”. The Huangpu Maritime Bureau sent three maritime patrol boats, a tug and a salvage ship to the scene, and the Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Center issued a navigation warning.

The “Deqinghuo 1925” which had turned bottom up was salvaged the following night on the Dongjiadu segment of the Huangpu River.
