Bergen Group acquired offshore oil services provider AAK Energy Services

AAK Energy ServicesBergen Group ASA acquired the oil services provider AAK Energy Services, which are experts in advanced access technology related to maintenance and modification work. The finance details of the acquisition were not revealed, but the both companies already started strategic collaboration in February this year. By acquisition of the oil services provider, Bergen Group will use the most of its potential and the deal will contribute to a further enhancement of the positive development inside, supplying complementary capacity and expertise as well as an expanded market access. The takeover process is expected to complete by the end of May 2017.

“Bergen Group has signaled a targeted growth strategy, which mainly bases its existing business areas. The acquisition of AAK Energy Services AS will provide us with complementary capacity and expertise as well as expanded market access”, said the CEO of Bergen Group, Hans Petter Eikeland.

AAK Energy Services AS offers inspection, installation, modification, maintenance, and decommissioning services, along with safety consulting and training for the oil and energy markets in Norway and Britain. The company was founded in 1987 and is based in Kokstad, Norway. AAK Energy Services has 60 employees and sales of around 62 million NOK last year.

“AAK Energy Services AS has completed a busy spring, in which we have conducted both organizational and structural measures to improve the profitability of the business. At the same time we experienced an increased interest in our services also in new market areas. This is something we believe we can strengthen further as we are a part of Bergen Group”, said the administrative director of AAK Energy Services, Torgeir Naero.
