Stolt Tankers extended long-term bareboat charters with Brovig

Stolt SanderlingStolt Tankers extended long-term bareboat charters with Brovig for four stainless-steel chemical tankers. The Norwegian tanker operator extended the charter agreement for Stolt Redshank, Stolt Sandpipe, Stolt Greenshank and Stolt Sanderling for another eight years, but not disclosing the charter rates. The agreement between the both companies was commenced in 2011 and had an option for purchasing of the vessels after end of five-year bareboat charters. However, Stolt Tankers abandoned from purchasing of the vessels and proceeded with chartering. The new charter agreement is commencing from today and will last until 2024.

The shipowner Brovig is controlled by the family of the same name and investment firm Gezina. The company quit vessel operation in 2014 and focused only on shipowning.

The above mentioned chemical tankers Stolt Redshank, Stolt Sandpipe, Stolt Greenshank and Stolt Sanderling are sister-ships built in 2011 by Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding company in Fuling, China. The ships are with overall length of 91.00 m, moulded beam of 16.00 m and maximum draft of 5.40 m. The deadweight of the vessels is 4,453 DWT and the gross tonnage is 3,327 GRT.
