Olympic Shipping was awarded with time charter contract by Maersk Oil for multipurpose field support vessel Olympic Electra. The contract duration is 100 days and will commence since April 1. The multipurpose field vessel Olympic Electra will be employed in North Sea off Denmark, as accommodation support vessel for the oil field operated by Maersk Olie og Gas. Into the agreement were included two extension options, but their exact duration was not discloses, as well as finance details. However, the new time charter contract is fresh breath for Olympic Shipping at the times of serious stagnation in offshore oil sector.
Olympic Shipping is operating 21 offshore vessels including 2 new buildings, 1 krill vessel and 2 modern deep sea trawlers.
Olympic Electra (IMO: 9547415) is multipurpose field support vessel with diesel electrical propulsion, low fuel consumption and high flexibility. The ship has overall length of 79.66 m, moulded beam of 16.40 m and maximum draft of 5.00 m. The deadweight of the vessel is 3,000 DWT and the gross tonnage is 3,140 GRT. The ship has built in 2011 by Myklebust Verft in their shipyard in Gursken, Norway. The vessel Olympic Electra has class society Det Norske Veritas and operate under the flag of Norway.
