McDermott International was awarded by local national oil company with three separate projects for integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation in offshore fields in Arabian Gulf. The projects combined are a substantial brownfield award for the offshore company and have a total scope which includes the EPCI for jackets and topsides, subsea pipelines and subsea cables. The engineering and fabrication for the project will be undertaken by McDermott at its Jebel Ali facility in Dubai, as well as employing vessels from the company’s global marine fleet. The work will be commenced immediately and will last until fourth quarter of 2017.
In addition, McDermott International received extension of an existing contract, also being executed in the Arabian Gulf.
The engineering is expected to be carried out by McDermott’s specialist teams in Dubai, UAE and Chennai, India. The procurement is expected to be performed by company’s specialist teams based in Dubai. The fabrication of the structures is scheduled to be undertaken by McDermott’s Dubai-based fabrication facilities and marine installation is expected to be under taken by McDermott’s specialist fleet of shallow-water vessels.
“These awards are due, in part, to McDermott’s ability to provide a highly efficient solution with schedule certainty and draws upon our in-depth knowledge and experience working offshore in the Middle East area over many years”, said the vice president of McDermott, Linh Austin.
