GC Rieber Shipping was awarded with time charter contract for CSV Polar King for a fixed period of 8 months by Norwegian manufacturer of offshore control cables and high-voltage Nexans. The contract will be commenced in January 2017 and contains options for another two 8-months extensions. The CSV Polar King will be employed for survey works, trenching and cable laying activities in North Sea off Norway, Netherlands and Denmark, as well as
in Mediterranean Sea on separate project. The financial details of the time charter were not disclosed, but will rescue the offshore shipping provider from the offshore business typhoon during the last month.

GC Rieber Shipping is a Norwegian company, which operates offshore subsea support vessels, marine seismic vessels and polar logistics and research expeditions. Based in Bergen, Norway it is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company owns and operates high specification vessels, including three subsea supply vessels, four ice support vessels and four marine seismic vessels.
CSV Polar King (IMO: 9523366) is a multipurpose subsea vessel specially designed for operation under severe weather conditions with high manoeuvrability and station keeping capabilities. The vessel has overall length of 110.60 m, moulded beam of 20.00 m and maximum draft of 7.30 m. The deadweight of the ship is 4,100 DWT and the gross tonnage is 7,238 GRT. CSV Polar King was built in 2011 by Freire Shipyard in Spain.
