CMA CGM launched new service between St Petersburg and Eastern Mediterranean, called Baltic Levant Express. The new loop include calls at key ports in Northern Europe – Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Le Havre, which will be connected with the most important ports of the Eastern Mediterranean – Alexandria, Beirut, Mersin and Aliaga. The Baltic Levant Express will improve the delivery time between Baltic region with North Africa, as the transit time from the port of Cartagena to Tilbury is only 5 days, while from Alexandria to Le Havre is 9 days. In the new loop will be employed 6 container ships with capacity 1750-1850 TEU, as the first voyage departed from St Petersburg on May 9.
The port rotation of Baltic Levant Express is: St Petersburg – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Le Havre – Malta – Alexandria – Beirut – Mersin – Aliaga – Valencia – Cartagena – Tangier – Tilbury – Antwerp – Rotterdam – St Petersburg.
The new container shipping service connects the markets of West Africa, North America and South America with the region of the Eastern Mediterranean through transshipment in Valencia and Tangier.
