Chinese fishing ship missing in East China Sea

Chinese fishing boatThe fishing ship Zhedaiyu 11307 is missing in East China Sea during storm. The vessel with 17 crew members disappeared without connection with owner and local authorities on 90 nautical miles north off Zhoushan, China. The ship disappeared on Saturday morning without responding to VHF calls and not visible on the radars. The coast guard started large scale search and rescue operation, but bad weather and storm are seriously hampering it. All the seafarers passing through the SAR zone were informed to be cautious for the missing fishing boat and crew. The lost communication and no tracking seriously worry the authorities, as the weather in vicinity is bad with strong winds and waves up to 6-8 m.

The local authorities and coast guard organized large-scale search and rescue operation by two ships, some rescue boats and helicopter. Still there are no traces from the missing fishing vessel.

The fishing ship Zhedaiyu 11307 has overall length of 45.00 m, moulded beam of 6.00 m and maximum draft of 3.00 m.
